Printer Errors And Their Meaning

Although HP printers are one of the best printers in the market, still they do face their fair share of errors. Sometimes, your HP printer may have been working fine but suddenly, you might notice an unusual sound or the quality of the ink on paper might be decreasing. Maybe, your printer is also facing trouble when trying to connect to the computer or the printing jobs may be taking longer than expected. All these signs indicate that there may be something wrong with your printer.

If you connect to your printer and a weird numeric combination appears on screen, it means that your printer is facing some errors. But there is nothing to be afraid of as every error message has its own meaning that can be used to fix the underlying problem.

To help you in this regard, we have penned down a list of the most common HP printer error messages, their meanings as well as solutions:

1. Printer in Error State

This is one of the most common errors people come across when using an HP printer. This error means that the printer is connected to the computer properly or is not switched ON. Therefore, the first thing that you should do when you see this message on screen is to disconnect and then try to reconnect your printer.

If you are using a wireless connection, disconnect the printer from the Wifi and connect it again. This should surely solve the error, but if it persists, you can reach out to the HP customer support for further guidance and assistance.

2. Error Code 0xc19a0003

This error message represents a leakage at the bottom of the printer. The leakage is generally caused by a damaged cartilage therefore, upon seeing this error, your first resort should be replacing the cartilage.

Switch OFF the printer and carefully remove the upper case. Now remove the cartilage and clean the printhead using a damp cloth. After cleaning, carefully install a new cartilage and place the cover back on top. This time the printer should be able to go ahead with the print task as usual. The error should now be fixed.

3. Error Code E8

The E8 error code represents an issue with the scanner carriage of the printer. Both software as well as the printer hardware can be a cause of this error, The first thing you should do is to check the HP printer software to ensure that it is up to date. If the problem still does not go away, it means that the scanner motor is causing the issue.

Remove the upper case of the printer after disconnecting it. Now remove and reinstall the cartilage after cleaning it. Restart the printer and send a printing job. Cleaning the hardware should get rid of any particles that may be causing the error and the printer should be able to work normally.
